Maroon 5’s Adam Levine = Yoga Maniac!

I’ve been a huge Maroon 5 fan for years.  In fact, it’s really a coincidence, but I just realized I’m actually listening to a Maroon 5 song in the background right now.  Anyhow, we all love yogi rock stars, and Adam Levine, the lead singer of Maroon 5 and a judge on The Voice, practices one workout like a religion: a custom yoga routine that has sharpened his mind and chiseled his body.  Featured in the article “Rock-Star Yoga” in the latest issue of DETAILS, Levine shares his essential poses, styles he swears by, and some of the songs from his yoga playlist.  The December/January issue of DETAILS hits stands nationwide on November 29. The fact that Levine is such a yoga junkie solidifies my assessment that he’s a pretty cool dude.

On why he turned to yoga…

“Weights made my neck thick, and I would be like, ‘I’m turning into a monster!’ Yoga takes what you have and molds and sculpts it, which is a much more natural way to look and feel.”

On doing yoga before a show…

“At any Maroon 5 concert, you’ll see a room backstage marked YOGA. Playing a show before thousands of people is a highly unnatural state, and when I get on the mat to do an hour of yoga before the show, I come out physically relaxed.”
